why would anyone, esp the better players, give out that much detail about their style? [/ QUOTE ] To try and improve their game? |

Re: Bringing hand analysis to a new level
you can post wrong ranges just to desinform or hypothetical ranges and often you re not that easy to identify. it is definitely a problem though.

Re: Bringing hand analysis to a new level
If you want advice on your overall strategy instead of just one hand in a vacuum, a "line check", this method is a lot better. Completely another matter is that how good you can estimate your percentages for alternate plays (check/fold/call/raise), and, how good the people responding can do the same.

Re: Bringing hand analysis to a new level
I think this is a great idea. I can see why people who play against the same opponents for a living wouldn't give out this info about themselves. Most of SSNL probably doesn't fall into that category, though.
If I thought I'd get good feedback, I'd post hands in this format. I think that I could certainly use a ton of help estimating ranges for my opponents. And people who are worried about giving too much away could do this just for the opponent. Why don't you just start posting things like this and see if it catches on (like Grunching)? If you felt like it, you could come up with some clever thing to put in the subject line or post (maybe "explicitranges") to make it easy to search for these. |

Re: Bringing hand analysis to a new level
ok i have provided a hand in this thread:
http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showfl...e=0&fpart=3 and also tried one here: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showfl...ue#Post11497390 but as you can see the second one didnt really work out that well, but i hope the interested ones will have a look at both and maybe contribute their thoughts. |
