Bet/fold is my play since villain seems pretty passive.

I would prefer to check/call here than bet/fold because if we bet he's likley to fold everything we beat and call if he has a ten or a K while if we check we may induce a bluff from a weaker hand like AJ or AQ

so IMO it seems the only way to make money here is to check and hope he bluffs at it, I wouldnt expect to get called and still win very often

From stats villains seems passive, and passive players is more likely to call a weak hand then bet as a bluff. Against a passive player you usually bet/fold or check/fold since they are unlikely to bluff.

if villain is overall passiv there is no need to call a raise because he is very unlikely to bet with air or a hand worse than 3nd pair.

Bet and obviously instafold if he raises. Checkcall is very poor.

comprende. I agree a passive player in general is more likley to call a weak made hand than he is to bluff a missed draw but it still holds true that he is almost never calling this river in this situation with a weaker hand, i mean what are we hoping for here ? a call with ace high or 3rd pair !? I realy cant see him calling with a weaker hand, and because he 'seems passive' after 85 hands isnt enough to convince me that he isnt cabable of bluffing at it so im check calling and taking down notes for next time.
