Yeah, I'm aware of that. My question was where I could fix that.

Are you joking?

You asked how to consume more than 1k calories each day. Let me make sure this is correct. I did read the note on tone and before I break out into horrible derisive laughter let me clarify.

You are eating such little food each day it doesn't matter what you eat. You need to eat more. You are eating a [censored] fun size candy bar for two meals and can't get more than 1k calories a day?!?!

Seriously, a King Size Butterfinger has ~420 calories.

I still can't get over how you ate a fun size candy bar for a meal.

huh? the candy bar was a snack. where did I say it was a meal?

all i know about the flax is that the thing it came in says each pill has 600mg omega-3 and to take 3 a day. hey, i told you i was retarded about this stuff. i don't know anyone personally that gives a [censored] about their health so i have to try to find things out through the internets which are vast and confusing.

kyle- thanks i will try this tomorrow.

Hrm... Since I realized I like you. I will give real advice instead of mocking.

Eat more often each day. You should be likely 5-8 meals of 300-500 calories each day.

What you consider a "snack", most consider a meal. It makes it easier for grouping. Sometimes I'll eat some almonds and drink some juice over like 2 hours, but I'll group it all into 1 meal for ease.

Try to eat every 2 hours. And eat more. You'll get used to it, the bloating will go away.

Well you're only eating 4 candy bars a day, you could probably increase that.

edit: my bad I thought that was your food for one day, but seriously

you're not supposed to eat [censored] because u want a lot of calories, here's my advice:

in the morning, get 2 whole eggs, lots of oats, honey, ...
if u want some suggary foods in your day, here's the time

eat some whole foods during the day, keep the refined carbs at a low or your insulin will peak too high, don't get too high in fats either, u dont want any risk by increasing your free fatty acids.
in the evening time, reduce your carbs seriously, take more protein en a small source of fat

as for fat, because of the high amount of calories u want, take a handfull of nuts [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], peanut butter, eggs
don't worry about eggs if u have normal cholersterol. it's an oldladies story that eggs are harmfull.

dont drink alcohol because of the high calories, it'll enable your carbs to fill up in your body, so u'd be eating all that for nothing.

again dont overendulge in sugars and bad fats, and workout accordingly to your diet regimen.
lots of succes

I thought I should post an update so I can get more feedback on things I'm screwing up. (I'm the OP of this thread btw).

I've started keeping track of how much protein I'm getting as well. Is there anything else I should keep track of?

I'm getting better but still not as much as I think I need to be on some days.

p=grams of protein

Aside from the occasional fast food stuff is there anything I should be cutting out? I could use some more variety as well, I'm getting tired of eating the same things all the time.

I'm about 5'6 178 and need to lose about 20+pounds, I think. I'm not really concerned with weight loss itself, I just want to eat healthy and figure the weight will take care of itself.

More protein. Your average meal is almost 1600cal, so that ain't bad but the portion that is coming from protein is a little low, based on the 1600cal average meal I'd recommend about 120g of protein for 30% of your caloric intake.

As far as cutting stuff out to eat more healthy...save the cranberry juice for first thing in the morning and do not go crazy on it (i.e. more than 1 cup). It's very high on the glycemic index, which means insulin spike which leads to insulin crash. It's ok in the morning because your body is typically starved and can uptake those simple sugars easier than at other times in the day, the only other time of day that happens and is actually better than breakfast is post workout. I'm not going to say anything about a candy bar for breakfast...

lol, fwiw if you're talking about the day I think you are I had some cottage cheese about 10 minutes later. I was starving and couldn't find anything so I just ate the first thing I saw, IIRC. Then got some cottage cheese.

Also, I forgot to mention that for about a week there I was keeping a sleep schedule of around 8-9am til 5-6 PM and wasn't sure where exactly to cut off each "day" at so a few of the things listed at the start of each day were actually right before I went to bed...

Thanks, do you have any specific suggestions on what to eat for more protein other than more portions of what I'm already on?

How's the lean round steak overall? I wouldn't mind eating more of that, but I wasn't sure if eating it every couple days or so would be too much cholesterol or not a problem at all.
