i think a mix of raises and calls is good for this type of situation. play it on feel of the tbl rather than in a vacuum. there are good merits to both plays. i do hate the baby raise even w aces 400 is not enough

No offense ham, but I think you got a resounding advice for call, me included. That just might be the right play.

150BBs is a ton of chips, we must alter our thinking here.
I like the call. Your not getting rid of anyone without jamming 40BBs in there to see where your at with essentially, a middle pair(And it will take that many, 400ish is creating odds too great for a multiway pot, with no room to maneuver post flop). Yes, I know there's only 3 hands pounding us (preflop!), but we are very deep here. As Cornell mentioned, it will too great of an investment to attempt isolate a hand you are leading. I prefer to take a flop in position and play poker. If you haven't done so, read this mastery on deepstack play.

the amount in the pot right now is ~1/7 of our stack. any kind of read on the raiser?

i understand what people think about wanting to see a flop in position, but i also think that there are a lot of flops where we will lose a bunch of chips to hands that would have folded (could potentially be up against multiple smaller pocket pairs / SCs) and that this has to be weighed against the chance of a significant increase to our stack right now.

sure, AA/KK/QQ/AK could be out there, and we could get hit with an AI reraise if we choose to raise. however, i think a good player sometimes folds QQ to that raise. to me, it depends on the range you assign to the raiser (who is most likely to be strong).

i guess i'm not saying that a call is bad, but maybe that IMO it might not get the maximum from the situation.

If a good player sometimes folds QQ to a reraise and you want to reraise then please explain to me the difference between protecting your JJ and turning your JJ into a bluff.

Fold. The PFA tells you he has it and the cold-caller still doesn´t seem impressed. No way to continue here for me ...

maybe, maybe not - could be KK or AA to get more chips into the pot, or even AK. But the probability that you are beaten here with 2 opponents, that called your reraise preflop is really huge. this can be a good place to loose all your chips with second (or even third) best hand.

get off
