Default JJ in the BB

one player in mid pos called then the sb raise and i raise too the mid pos fold.
flop was 6s Ac 9c
it went check check
turn was 2d he bet i call
river was 5c he bet i call

did I play this hand the right way

You need to bet that flop. You can usually fold to a raise.

Your checking the flop said, "I don't have an ace so go ahead and take the pot away from me."

have to bet flop and u can probably fold after raise (unless its type of tricky player who c/r FD)

I agree that you have to bet the flop, but I think you can call a raise and see the turn.

that doesn't really seem to be hero's line here ... he's going to showdown (he's more or less saying: bluff at me please!)

if this guy is very aggressive and could easily checkraise without an ace you'll be forced to call down a lot ... I don't think this line is too bad against one of those guys (on this board)
you save yourself one full big bet!

but, in general ... just bet the flop (a lot of guys will call with less than top pair - at a lot of levels)

If you are scared of him holding an Ace, just try betting this to show-down. You will be surprised how-often he doesn't have one.

A bet on the flop is pretty vital here.

Also, don't be results-oriented. It's bad.
