$10, AA flop Set, how to play
$10sng, 10 handed, very early in the game, basically starting stacks.
blinds 10/20 I raise AA to 120 in early position, 2 callers (cutoff,sb) Flop (Ad Jh 6c): both players check since the board is dry and probably noone has an ace i try a probing bet of 100 to get some reaction. cutoff calls, sb folds. Turn (Ad Jh 6c Ks): still rainbow, qt isnt too probable too, so i hope he has a substantial ace. i check to him, he checks behind. Fluss (Ad Jh 6c Ks 10s): now that (probably) sux i check, villain bets 200, i call too much slowplay? |

Re: $10, AA flop Set, how to play
120 seems pretty big for an open raise, but if people are calling that, then thats cool.
Id bet bigger on that flop, mainly because i can't think of many hands i'd want to bet 1/4 of the pot. Id bet about 250 here - i mean its unlikely they are calling with much but a stubborn J might call, and you just need to hope one of them has the case A - while unlikely its going to be tough for you get lots of chips here from other hands. Turn you def need to bet, he might have KJ, he might have pair+gutshot now, and like you said, he might have the ace - SO BET! Assuming you'd bet 250 on the flop, pot would now be 900 and you can bet 650 and shove the river |

You should bet bigger on the flop, they will both probably fold but if they don't you have a huge pot, which is what you want. It'd be better to get a huge pot 1/3 the time than a medium pot 1/2 the time so just play it strong and hope someone comes along. The turn is a great card for you and you should be betting it hard. |

Re: $10, AA flop Set, how to play
i understand now why the turn card is a great card for me. much appreciated..
(btw villain had a stubborn qq, which still makes the turn very bettable) |
