All in with mucked cards
Well, Im playing a loose table with a lot of laughter of fun
Here's the hand I am wondering about; Me and another dude hu, I bet flop, he calls. Turn comes and it looks like he is gonna bet so I muck cause I have nothing, but suddenly I pick up a tell on him while he looks at his chips and wonders about what to do. I take my hands down to the felt and puts them infront of where my cards would have been and when he checks I declare all in and he folds. What is the ruling here? Can I take the pot when he folds? Do I have to pay if he calls? Just an interesting scenario that happened a couple of days ago. |

Re: All in with mucked cards
My opinion is you win, yes, and yes. I'm 100% on the third Q, not so much on the first two.

Re: All in with mucked cards
I don't understand. If you have no cards because you mucked them, then the hand is over.

Re: All in with mucked cards
where could you have mucked your cards to? If you dont protect your cards while hand is live you lose.

so I muck cause I have nothing [/ QUOTE ] The hand is now over. I have heard a lot of stories about people winning with no cards, but once you muck you have conceded the pot. |

Re: All in with mucked cards
Is there any official ruling in this?
Only reason I tried this was because I know Doyle once did this many years ago and won, just wanted to try it out for fun, if he had called I would have payed tho. |

[/ QUOTE ] Ok, thats a clear answer But what if he calls? What is the action then? Followin the same logic, I dont need to pay? |

[/ QUOTE ] On second thought he should have won the hand (Where was the dealer?), no you shouldn't (but you did), and I stick with yes on the third answer. And it was TJ not Doyle. (although it might have been both) |

Re: All in with mucked cards
I think Antonio Esfandiari did something similar to Daniel Negreanu on High Stakes Poker. Daniel bet and stared down at his chips to not give anything away. Antonio folded, noticed Daniel didn't realized he had folded so declared "All-in". Daniel's head whipped up and the look on Daniel's face was priceless. He was still confused as the chips were being pushed his way...

Re: All in with mucked cards
What happened was that the dealer gave the pot too the other guy, which I was fine with, was a small pot anyways (he was a shortstack).
Just was wondering what the ruling should be since I knew Doyle did it long time ago, but I guess the rules have changed since the 70's Thanks for the responses |
