OT: Poker Coaches
I've heard one of the best ways to increase your winrate is to hire a poker coach, so i've been looking into it and it seems pretty expensive. I've contacted one coach who wants to charge $100/hr, I've looked around at others and they are similarly expensive. Obviosly it depends on how good the coach are prices like this normal for coach? Do people find it worth it? I would particularly like to hear from people who have had good and bad coaching experiences.

Re: OT: Poker Coaches
I haven't had a coach but I have looked into it a decent amount. I have not seen a player who was openly unhappy with the coaching they received.

Re: OT: Poker Coaches
Yes, these prices are normal.
While only the greediest try to charge what they make playing poker (as coaching is less stressful and has no variance), a coach isn't going to charge a small fraction of his earn rate either. If this is out of your league, there are sites with instructional videos and such for a lot less. I've mostly heard good things about coaching, but as always, Caveat Emptor. |
