Jim Morris "The Rookie" is a good film for a kid.

The Miracle on Ice movie might be decent for your boy too.

Another not-great-but-decent sports film that a kid might like okay is the made-for-TV movie "A Winner Never Quits. The Pete Gray Story."

Not sure how easy it is to find but it's probably on Amazon or netflix or something.

The overly-sentimental story of a one-armed outfielder who made it to the big-leagues in the 1940's.

Most of the movie is about him playing for the Memphis Chicks in the Southern Association where he won MVP honors so that should make it even more attractive for you and your kid.

I have no idea if Lance cheated or not, but it would be pretty amazing if he didn't.

I think Lance is a good pick, cos he beat cancer and then he managed to beat a lot of guys who were cheating !!! (Iban Mayo, Ullrich etc)

Wow, I just watched the video. Incredible.

I'm now a huge Team Hoyt fan. Secondary effect is that I feel like a tremendous underachiever.

There are two and they both came out at about the same time.

One is called "Pre" with Jared Leto and R. Lee Ermey as the coach, and the other is called "Without Limits" with Billy Crudup and Donald Sutherland. I liked Pre better, but I'm not exactly sure why.
