Quick!! Best C++ Books?
I'm gonna order a C++ book from barnes and noble, just need some help deciding which one to get. I'm only *slightly* familiar with the language, so i'd like to get something that covers both beginner and advanced topics. I'm trying to stay away from the "Learn C++ In 6 Minutes" type of thing. Recommendations?

Re: Quick!! Best C++ Books?
Go to SoftPro and see what they have. Aspyr is a good publisher name as is O'reily and I think Que. You want something that costs around 50 bucks and is about 3 inches thick, say 1200 pages or so.

Re: Quick!! Best C++ Books?
Have you already decided on a specific compiler/IDE to use?
If not, you should figure this out first. Most books usually have you follow along as you go. If you're using something like visual c++ it would be best to get a book based around programming in vc++, etc.. |

Re: Quick!! Best C++ Books?
I found this really useful. It assumes you know the language but is very useful for improving your C++ code. I recently heard it referred to as a great 2nd C++ book, so it might not be exactly what you're looking for at this point. But definitely worth getting at some point if you continue to work with C++.
