I do not find this funny anymore, as we are all in our thirties.

I still find it thoroughly enjoyable to be the "fartor". The "fartee"? Not so much.

I do not fart in their car. Also, the third guy in our party yesterday let go an SBD in front of the game which we stumbled into. I do not find this funny anymore, as we are all in our thirties.

I pity you and your planet where farting is not funny

Dids,

In all seriousness, it's extremely standard to set keys on the table when you get somewhere, at least from what I've seen out here. So many people are expressing surprise about this, however, that I'm going to start paying attention to this when I go out.

The exception to this for me is when I'm not using them, e.g. someone else drove me somewhere so they never came out of my pocket in the first place.

Tonight is my usual home poker game. 10-20 people. I'll bring this up and/or see how many people have their keys lying around. I know I usually just set mine in a convenient place near the door.

a person's house is a little different than a public arcade/bar/whatever.

Now he has to get his spare car key and hope his ride hasn't been jacked. Over/under on this happening?

Tuq,

I'm probably more paranoid than most about my keys/whatever, I pretty much feel weird if I can't feel keys/phone/wallet/id thingy in my pockets at all time. That said, this seems way non-standard at a bar. Homegame sure, usually everybody has their keys/wallet/phone out at mine, but that's a very different environment.

tuq,

The idea of going to a random bar and leaving your valuables out on the table seems incredibly odd to me, but not as odd as the fact that you think this behavior is extremely standard.

I know you said it is more comfortable taking your keys out of your pockets. But c'mon, just how tight are your pants, duder? I mean, it really can't be that much more comfortable to even risk it in the first place. My keys stay in pocket for the majority of the day, and I never even notice them.

What does not compute? Someone, almost certainly gang-banger dudes, took his keys. They could have then waited across the street for us to leave (him with me) to get a spare set, and then taken his rig.

solids, right now my pockets are empty. On my desk are my keys, phone, and wallet. I habitually empty them when I get anywhere. I DO generally make it a habit to put them out of the easy reach of strangers, and yesterday our area of the bar was pretty empty and stranger-free until the aforementioned gang-bangers rolled up. If it were more crowded I would have been guarding my stuff more vigilantly, to be sure.

One other thing: I think mine was the only wallet on the table, so I suspect that leaving the wallet out is a bit unusual, but not so much with keys/phone/sunglasses, at least for our group.

I will be keeping a closer eye out for this behavior going forward. I may have to have another group happy hour later today to conduct further research.

tuq,

Since I stopped wearing pants, keeping keys and/or other sorta bulky objects in my pockets grates on me a little. Even so, I can't understand walking into a bar and leaving my keys on a table. I'm pretty sure I've never even seen that happen. For it to be standard procedure to you and your friends is really bizarre.
