push, definitely. most of the time u are way ahead.

There are few hands that beat u, and if, as you say, he is likely to make a move against u then u can give him credit for A9 or a full house.

i think he hit his 10 9
if he hit a FH he won't check the flop and 4bet the turn cause he won't scare u out of the Pot.. i'll make it 20 and let him go allin..

Not sure why his argument is weakened if he would honestly fold T9 or 89. If that's true then your shove only gets called by better hands, thus making him correct.

I think that's mostly BS though. I doubt he'd fold either of those hands for 1 buyin unless he has some uber read on you. I think your play is fine.

And I doubt he is as good as he thinks if he's trying to educate you at the table, especially after he just won a big pot. If he was smart he would be telling you how there was no way you could fold that, tough hand, etc. What an idiot.

You make a good point in your first paragraph Ricky Bobby, and that is the main reason I made this thread. His assertion is that the only hands that would call preflop and call my push are ones that beat me. I was actually hoping to see more people look at it from that angle in this thread.

As to why his argument was weakened, you answered that in the first sentence of your second paragraph. Either he was bs'ing me, and I should just ignore him, or he is really willing to fold those hands, which would be terrible IMO.

Overall, he seems to be a decent player, but when I commented that it was a cooler, he told me it was actually a terrible shove. Maybe he was trying to tilt me, or maybe he is trying to induce me to shove light there in the future thinking he would fold a hand like T9. Either way, he won't be successful.
