Re: John from Cincinnati 7/29 Official
We seem to know now that both Barry and Freddy have had visions in the past independent of John; any thoughts on that?

"Shaun in the bar with Barry was pretty weird too. Thats the first time anyone else has ever had teleportation / out of body sort of experience, right? "
i thought this was a vision of barry's, not shaun actually being there. |

Re: John from Cincinnati 7/29 Official
Ok, so, what is with the stick type figure that John was sitting next to and what does it have to do with this passage from his monologue:
"Fur is big. Mud is big. The stick is big. The word is big. Fire is huge. The wheel is huge. The line and circle are big. On the wall, the line and circle are huge. On the wall, the man at the wall makes a man from the circle and line. The man at the wall makes a Word on the wall from the circle and line. The Word on the wall hears my Father." i mean, there are clues here... i feel so weird watching this show and really enjoying it while everyone i know hates it. |

Re: John from Cincinnati 7/29 Official
I'm really enjoying John as a Jesus figure being pushed around by his Dad and not at all happy with the direction things are taking. The scene with Cass, and the one with Bill, where John clearly wants to let on more than he can, but can't/won't, really awesome.

im probably going to quit watching this show after this season [/ QUOTE ] I don't think you'll have much choice on the matter, I don't see this getting renewed. Like everyone else I know who has stuck with this show for the brief waves of brilliance amongst the see of crap, I also hate Cissy, love Bill and think the kid who plays Shaun is a tragically inept actor. |

Re: John from Cincinnati 7/29 Official
I feel like there's only really one big question. To me, it's reasonably obvious that God is manipulating everybody for some desired outcome. We just don't know what that outcome might be.

Re: John from Cincinnati 7/29 Official
I'm not bumping up last week's thread, but I was out of town and just caught the last two episodes this afternoon. Some thoughts on both:
--I didn't recognize Mark-Paul Gosselaar (until I read the closing credits), and judging by the total lack of any mention of his name in last week's thread, neither did anybody else. --"Errol Flynn look-alike from the back cover of the Yellow Pages" was AG all day. NH, sir. --Loved Milch's voice-over cameo ("Thank you so much, Mr Cunningham...you [censored] [censored]!"). I don't have a clue what the scene meant, but it was nice to see DM perform a little. --"I don't speak monkey, or I'd say it in your language, you half a [censored] ape!", or whatever the exact wording was, should be nominated for line of the year. |

Re: John from Cincinnati 7/29 Official
sorry to bump this old thread, but just finished the series and couldn't find anything more recent than this.
i gave this show a chance because i loved deadwood. i kept watching even though i was consistently disappointed because i figured i owed it to milch to see it to the end. but i was amazed by how crappy the ending of this season was. is there anyone out there who found that satisfying at all? dids, you seem to be the only one who actually liked the show. you still feel that way after the way it ended? |
