Re: $114: KK flops an ace
I hate this spot. Push PF avoids this situation but obv you get less value if no action
As played, I think you need to fold. At lower levels sucky villains often have A/3+ and never let it go. I don't play at this level so my advice goes under the assumption that sucky villain suckiness is static across all buy-ins. |

Re: $114: KK flops an ace
Ugh, I would usually just push pf (you are right around 10 bbs). As played, I think a check-fold is ok. He can't really be betting a draw, so I guess on that board he has an A too often to continue.

Re: $114: KK flops an ace
Disclaimer: I've only played as high as the $22s ...
I'm either pushing pre flop or raising the 375 that you did if your intention is to get the chips in the middle on a non-ace flop ... If villian sucks the same as the levels I've played, and calls with nearly any ace as the previous poster stated, the 375 raise gives you SOME room to fold if an ace falls on the flop (although I'm not folding there 100% of the time - it'll depend on the read on the villian) ... I think raising to 500, as stated earlier, leaves you too short ... I'd leans towards just pushing pre flop, though ... |

Re: $114: KK flops an ace
Preflop is incredibly standard.
As played call flop. Check turn. |

Re: $114: KK flops an ace
guess you have to start with some type of calling range. lets assume TT AK and AQ reraise preflop.
77(6 combinations) 88 (6 combinations) 99 (3 combos becasue 9 on board) AJ 12 combos AT 12 combos KQ 8 combos KJ 8 combos QJs 4 combos so you are ahead of 32 combos and behind 27. of couruse adjust for whatever you think his range is. you have 1240 behind and pot is 975, so odds are about right. i think i want to get them in in this spot, especially vs a bad player that will donate some chips with 88. villian should be drawing to just a couple of outs so i like check/call check/call or check/call lead turn if scary. i usually open for just a bit more in this spot (400) just to committ myself postflop. a few unknown bad players will never notice. warning - nit alert. |
