Are there less expensive (but still competent) alternatives? Camtasia is like 300 bucks..

Are you serious? I used to download cracked versions of programs all the time... when I was a kid. I'd rather pay for them and support the developer. Besides there's no way to make sure that the illegal versions you download don't contain harmful bits of code. Each to his own though so stop berating please. Fish.

I just watched this. Though you got sucked out on it's still a good vid. A lot of good analysis and stuff and I agree about the cardrunners comparisons. That's exactly how they roll.
