preflop really sucks. why the hell would you want to sweeten the pot here? you want to make the pot big so that you get paid if you hit or you want to take the pot down preflop. your play doesn´t achieve any of the two.
raise the turn. you want to get value out of your hand. |

Re: 10NL - Small flush hits but Villain bets turn OOP
preflop miniraise is bad, because you cut your implied odds in half without really increasing your FE much at all. its made double bad by the hand that you hold, which plays much better in raised pots, than in unraised pots, which this essentially is. with hands like 56s, ideally you'd like to be up against one or two strong hands as opposed to playing against other peoples' rags. it makes it much easier to get all your chips in when you make a low draw, and more likely that you get paid when deep in the hand. most importantly though, is the likelyhood that you take down the pot before it goes deep, which you almost never will by coming in with a minraise.
edit: as played, you drew/semibluffed to hearts, and now you have them, so there's no bailing, unless of course another heart comes. |
