Turning 88 into AQ?
havent busted this trick out in a while cuz it always burns me cuz they show up with AK or some rubbish, but still i think this play is good occasionally against a tight player who can lay down TT QQ and KK here to heat. Anyone like? This guy was pretty solid and reloaded whenever below 100

This guy was pretty solid and reloaded whenever below 100 <snap> Hero ($87.70) [/ QUOTE ] The play seems fine to me as long as you don't do it too often. He needs to fold less than 50% of the time. Also if he doesn't fold it might get you paid of in the future when the flop does hit you. |

fold preflop [/ QUOTE ] wtf? are you deliberately trolling bad advice? uminchu: against a thinking player like this i like this play a lot. I'd rather raise to $32 to be able to push him off a jack/QQ/KK. |

Re: Turning 88 into AQ?
i actually kind of like the dollar amount. i dont see how raising to $32 (as opposed to $28) changes FE here. in fact, $28 seems to look a little more sneaky for some reason. to me the bet kind of announces "i know you have KK and i'm gonna value bet you to death because i have an ace." plus, $28 instead of $32 saves you $4 if he pushes over the top of you. i dont see how you can call if he shoves on you here.
