I guess I don't have to worry since everyone in the building actually has a job.

...except you.

You'd probably be surprised.

Phone doesn't ring on Sundays very often.

I just got finished playing two weddings this weekend. The wife played with Josh Groban along with some of the string players we regularly work with.

This weekend, I've got two more weddings and have a string trio going out to play a wedding ceremony and cocktail.

The musical preparation I do during the week (which is really a lot of physical prep) is necessary to my success on weekends (when most of the work happens).

drum beat, cute.

Place your stereo speakers face down on floor.
Put on When the Levee Breaks.
Turn up to 11.
Play continuously whenever drumming is absent.

I practice trumpet in my apartment building (6 units) every day - never before 9a, never after like 7p. Never had a complaint and I'm within the bounds of the law. If someone told me not to play during those hours, I'd pitch a fit.

Everyone in your apartment hates you.

Also, you seem like the kind of person who would say things like "I'm within the bounds of the law..." right before I belted you.

[/ QUOTE ]

Agreed on both.

That would be incredible! So after I sue you for limiting ruining my career (as long as you got me good in the chops) I'd still keep practicing after the fact, maybe take up piano or cello or something.

[/ QUOTE ]
Oh wow you really do seem like a huge douchebag.

Yes, he established that on the first post.

theglidd,

You've stated that you're fine with what you're doing because you're within the restrictions of the law, even if this is true how can you feel like a decent person knowing that all of your neighbors hate you for waking them up, and having to deal with your constant bull [censored].

To be honest, if someone complained, I would do my best to work out occasional solutions.

None of my neighbors hate me. The only comments anyone makes is how nice everything sounds.

Maybe this is different from random drumming, but one person's noise is another's work of art.

theglidd,

I'm glad to hear that you'd be open so solutions if neighbors complained, and I'm sorry if I sounded harsh in this thread.

Many years ago I was addicted to a video game called Urban Operations. I played it like 8+ hours a day. One night my neighbor knocked on the door in disgust. He said all he could hear every night was bombs going off.

I had no idea anyone outside my walls could hear it. I bought some headphones and that was that.

Although that won't solve your problem maybe if you brought it up with your neighbor you might get some positive results.

Then again they might get irate and shank you.
