help me solve Laptop to HDTV question
Basically, I need my LCD HDTV to be a fully functional LCD monitor with audio as well.
I'm going to pick up a 26" or 32" Samsung LNT model HDTV. It has the following ports: -2 HDMI ports -2 Composite (AV) -2 S-Video -1 PC input (D-sub) <-- I think it may have to do with this based on the name.. -2 Component (Y/Pb/Pr) I need to connect it to my laptop which has the following relevant ports: -15-pin RGB (VGA?) -S-Video I need there to be audio and visual obviously, and the picture should be good. What is the best way to go around doing this, and what cables do I need to buy? Thanks ahead of time. Let me know if u guys need to know more information about my Laptop or HDTV. edit: no reward threads in CTH |

Re: help me solve Laptop to HDTV question
Easiest way is to do the RGB (which is D-sub) for the video, and stereo-mini-to-RCA for the audio (headphone plug to red & white plugs).
The audio is not going to be very good quality through the onboard headphone jack (usually), so you could also look into a PCMCIA or ExpressCard (depending on what your laptop has) sound card that has Digital optical or spdif output for higher quality sound. You could also look into a USB sound card, but I don't know anything about those. |
