Am I the only one who checks the turn? [/ QUOTE ] in a vacuum against a straightforward player checking the turn might be right, however it is certainly close. However... I cant speak for any1 else, but I am betting this turn b/c I would bluff this turn as well w/ nothing, so I assunming a jack or tt will not fold. Also it make it easier for him to check behind on the river when everything blanks off and i check. My main problem with this hand is that it doesnt make sense for him to not raise the turn but then go ahead and shove the river. That seems retarded w/ just about any hand he can have. Also my main reason for folding this hand was the propensity for people that arent regs to like to slowplay. Most regulars would be raising the turn or the flop with a FH or trips here, while it seems unknowns are more likely to be slowplaying |

[/ QUOTE ] I could see the call on the turn if he thinks he has it - maybe an AK-clubs, or maybe he was trying to steal blinds preflop with an A8 and got lucky. Either way, he could be hoping to get one more shot out of the hero on the river - when he was checked to, hey, the pot is big, why not push and make it look like you might be trying to steal it away. A raise on the turn could lose him the chance to get more out of the hand. |
