Default 2 pair, checked the turn, now facing pot sized bet...

Villain is extremely loose, 58/6/3 over 60 hands.

SB ($19.70)
BB ($20.86)
Hero ($25.90)
MP ($20.35)
Button ($28.58)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
<font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $1.2</font>, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, Button calls $1.20, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>.

Flop: ($2.70) 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $2.7</font>, Button calls $2.70.

Turn: ($8.10) 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
Hero checks, <font color="#CC3333">Button bets $8.1</font>, Hero calls $8.10.

River: ($24.30) J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
Hero checks, Button checks.

I bet pot on the flop to not give him correct odds to draw to a flush - villains range is large so he could have any old crap - but nothing too crap as I've been playing very tight (my vpip was 17, pfr 14).

Turn is a blank, so I check. I think this is a bad move, as basically if he does have a flush draw, I'm letting him get a free card. His pot sized bet scares me - and I add extra time to think. What should I do here?

I checked and the river is Jh. Was my river check good?
