Any supernovas here who play 50NL?
Is it possible to be a supernova while playing 50NL full ring? If not, what is the highest level possible? I am in silver now and i am pretty sure i can get to goldstar pretty easily if i did put in some time.

I don't know who does it but it certainly doesn't seem that impossible.
According to JaredL's old thread of VPP per hand... link he says .24 VPP/hand at NL50 full-ring. Even if the games have gotten nittier since then and it's now down to .20 VPP/hand at NL50 you are still looking at roughly 60-70 hands per hour on the full-ring tables. (10 random tables = 78+78+83+69+56+47+57+65+66+90 = 69 average). So lets round down and say 60 hands per hour at .20VPP/hand = 12 VPP per table-hour. At 12 tables this is 144 VPP/hour. To get to platinum is 10k VPP per month or 2.5k VPP per week. So 12 tabling NL50 for 17.3 hours per week would get you there. And you would be SN by the end of October. And this is erring on the conservative side for hours required per week due to their being slightly more than 4 weeks per month and you are probably going to get more than 60 hands per hour and more .2 VPP per hand. More optimistically, if you did .24 VPP/hand times 70 hands per hour you would get 16.8 VPP per table-hour. Now change it from 4 weeks to 30 full days (at 334 VPP per day). 16.8*12 tables = 200 VPP/hr So at just 1.67 hours per day (or 334 VPP every day) you would make SN by the end of October. So if you are adept at 12-tabling I wouldn't think SN would be that incredibly difficult to achieve if you really wanted it. 300-400 VPP per day (10k per month) really isn't that much. |
