Re: Casino Chips
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] also you cant take chips to another casino and try to cash them, [/ QUOTE ] Uhh, yeah you can, about 95% of the time. (Huge chips cause problems) [/ QUOTE ] uhh, no. not in vegas bro! no casino in town will cash chips from another casino! they will tell you to take em back where you got them!....dont take my word for it though! i just work in the biggest casino in vegas, but what the hell do i know....? [/ QUOTE ] Perhaps you should read the thread about the Rio accepting Bellagio chips for WSOP entry fees. I have personal experience with MGM properties accepting any MGM-property chips, though I have only tried this with 5 and 25 chips. Seems to me it is considered a courtesy rather than an official policy to accept them; if you sit at casino X with 4 25's from casino Y, the runner will nearly always cash them for a rack. I have never tried to convert chips into cash at a cage of another casino, I admit. -Curtis |

Re: Casino Chips
in regards to the rio accepting bellagio chips.....we're talking about a whole different ball game! at those levels it was definatly a courtesy to the "big-game" players having to carry large sums of cash
my point is if you take $80 in reds ($5) from binions and try and cash them at, say, bellagio or caesars. sorry not gonna work! against policy. back in the day...maybe. but not anymore sport! |

Re: Casino Chips
I think the casino would love for you to buy 100 white chips and take them home with you. That's $100 in their pocket and zero in yours. Who's the sucker?
In the old days a black chip was a black chip. I have read in several places that a Dunes black got the same action at the BJ table as a Caesars black would at the Flamingo. I would assume once in awhile all the chips would end up back at home where they belong. |

Re: Casino Chips
Casinos actually don't mind you taking cash value chips out of the casino at all, as the cost per chip to them is always less than what you paid for it. The bigger the chip you take, the bigger the profit they get from your souvenir.
The one thing you can't do is take any NCV chips out (No Cash Value), such as tournament chips. |

Re: Casino Chips
Casino cages definitely take others chips. Ive cashed $100 Wynn chips at Bellagio, and once attempted to cash a $1000 Bellagio chip at Wynn. The Wynn cage said they would have to call Bellagio to see if they would back up their cashing it. Bellagio requested that I take it to the original cage. The point is, Wynn was willing to do it if Bellagio gave the okay.

Re: Casino Chips
as far as the "harrahs to caesars chips" thats fine...both under the "harrahs umbrella" also "monte carlo to bellagio chips" also fine both casinos fall under the "MGM umbrella"
but taking monte carlo chips to say, caesars, no can do. back to the topic at hand, take all the chips you want home with you just dont do it during a live poker game. (however a dollar or two would be fine) have fun, good luck |

Re: Casino Chips
You can even start a home chip set with casino chips, not a big deal, lots of people do it. You pay $1/chip for nice clay chips anyway, these you can take back if you are low on cash.

They hope they walk out the door. Could there be a better business than minting 5000 Celine $5's for 20cents each and selling 'em for $5 and having 'em walk out the door? As for selling for a profit... check out ebay where you can find $1 Bellagio and $1 PH chips for sale right now for $3.49+$2.50 shipping+handling. |
