good story hansel. Why didn't you just say koszi? Pretty impossible to mess up that pronunciation. Any chance you went to the House of Terror in Budapest? It was probably my favorite place from my time in Ukraine/Hungary.

There were far too many currencies in that story.

I call a raise with 7d6d for 3k from some evil nit lady who I saw slowplay AA preflop earlier (flat calling BB behind a raise and three callers is SO TRICKY, and then gets even trickier when you lead-call the T97dd flop and go busto to top set). Flop 632 one diamond, nit lady leads 3k again (YOU BET THE SAME AMOUNT YOU RAISED PRE, THEREFORE U WHIFFED!), old dude I have no read on calls, I call. Turn is another 3, nit lady checks, old dude bets 10k, there's like 30k in the pot at this point so I call, nit lady folds, river 9 check check TT is good you passive old nitbox.

is just terrible

Why? I think the hand is fairly standard. Preflop isn't really arguable, I don't think calling the flop getting really good odds with 5 outs + bdfd is bad at all, maybe you can take issue with calling 10k on the turn, although I didn't have a read on this guy yet so I didn't know until after he flipped his TT that he was a passive old nitbox and I was getting like 3.5:1 on that call.

Sorry if you didn't like the trip report, maybe my threads aren't for you then.

hahaha nice trip report

so, you should have hooked up with Urbanati, he prob. could have helped you navigate the chaos that is Hungary

anyway, the stuff with the lines, the minimum payments, the confusing chips, the switching of tables, etc. is all super standard....... i think hungarians just love chaos and don't understand the concept of lines and other such orderly ways of organizing things

anyway, overall, i would say Budapest is a fun place to visit for a tourist, but everyone has trouble w/ hungarians... even hungarians

here's my most recent confusing exchange w/ someone in hungary

We're at a lake and walk up to the shack to get a cold beer (yay! beeeeeeer!)

Bartender: What would you like
Me: What do you have?
Bartender: We have Beer1, Beer2, and Beer3
Me: hmmmmm I'll take Beer2
Bartender: We don't have Beer2
Me (slightly annoyed): Ok, Beer1 then.
Bartender: We don't have Beer1 either. We only have Beer3.

...
...

And that is hungarian customer service in a nutshell. But believe it or not it's improved a lot.

Anyway, hope you had fun in Budapest, it's a beautiful city with tons of stuff to do day and night!
