Re: Tell me about Seattle
[ QUOTE ]
Anyone know the name of the authentic Italian pizza place right on the other side of I-5 on either Pike or Pine? Menu in Italian, hard to get a table, best pizza I've ever had......thats all I can remember. [/ QUOTE ] I grew up outside of Tacoma (hate it, thanks), but love Seattle. One time, with out of town family visiting, we went up to Pikes place. We stumbled upon Bugsy's Pizza real close to Pike's place. One of the two best pizza's I've ever had (the other was in the San Juans). I don't know if this is it, or not. But i do remember they didnt' use sauce, they used finely diced tomatos, and it was ridiculously good. Ridiculously. Josh |

Re: Tell me about Seattle
The one on Lake City is nice and clean. Also:
Maharaji (throws pickles on the rug), Larry (the white guy, people think he's funny. A real estate investor, he makes a lot of money), Mix A Lot and Kid Sensation. Awesome. |

Re: Tell me about Seattle
I saw Mix A Lot and Kid Sensation at Summer Jam 2000. They opened the show in front of like 100 people, but it was [censored] SIR MIX A LOT, HOLLA!

[ QUOTE ] i love thai tom, but Chantanee's is just as good depending on your mood. might see bill gates there occasionally. [/ QUOTE ] Mae Phim on 1st and Columbia downtown is better than both. And everything is $6. KJS [/ QUOTE ] I really never liked Mae Phim at all. Everything tasted very bland to me. I am a fan of Thai Ginger for fairly inexpensive and good thai food. |

Re: Tell me about Seattle
Some of the best Thai food I've had is actuall Thai Ocean, in Greenlake. It's next to a laundromat and doesn't really have any atmosphere in the restaurant but their Gang Gai is phenomenal.
I'll second Kyle's comments about Gaucho. Rob |

Re: Tell me about Seattle
[ QUOTE ]
El Gaucho is fine, but GoT can second me when I say that it's overrated and overpriced. Daniel's pwns. [/ QUOTE ] It's a bit overpriced I guess compared to Danny's, but not at all compared to like 10 other places I could name, so I don't really think of it as overpriced. It's better than, say, The Met at the same price or Ruth Chris' at just slightly more, and there are a ton of places that don't even bother trying to put together a decent steak and still charge $35 (Manzana, etc). So meh, I wouldn't call it overpriced. Plus, their sides are better than Danny's imo (best scalloped potatoes I've ever had), and their banana's foster is ridiculously good, this coming from someone who almost never orders a dessert not named coffee. Anyway, when I think "overpriced steak" I def don't think El Gaucho. Where else beside Daniel's do you think it's overpriced in comparison with? |
