I haven't seen this argument in a while. It used to come up all of the time, but I assumed we were done with it. If I knew how to find a link to that math article by Davelin about keeping the pot small pre-flop I would post it there.

I almost went to play live last night. Left a friend's beach house at 11:30ish (90 minute drive home from there) and AC is 30 minutes from there. If I would have had a change of clothes in the car, I may have gone and then went straight to work.

I've really got no excuse. My casio is about 3 blocks from where I work and its about a 25min walk home from there. Not to mention the worst 5/10 players in the world. However, it is also the worst/weirdest rake in the world.

Their "rake" is $1 for every player, every hand, not added to the pot. i.e. you pay $1 to get your hole cards, then that money disappears down the shute. Yes, that is right, $100 for 100 hands = 10bb/100 at 5/10.

To be fair, half the tables are like that, the other half are 10% max $10, which is acceptable. However, for some reason, they cant make them all like that and blame legislation. Yer, I'm sure the QLD government cares how you rake your poker tables!

Why I can't make money lately:

PokerStars 0.50/1.00 Hold'em (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

Suited connector, shiny!!!!

Flop: (6.50 SB) T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players)

He 3-bet me on the flop and led into me, now that I picked up the other draw I better raise so I can obviously get 3-bet again knowing that some of my outs are probably now tainted. Translation: Straight and flush draw, shiny!

This guy read somewhere that you raise any 2 on the button, regardless of the game conditions. He's your standard overaggressive spewLAG with almost no idea what he's doing post-flop. He adjusts to me 3-betting him more by raising more.

Preflop: Hero is SB with 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
2 folds, Button raises, Hero 3-bets, 1 fold, Button calls.

Flop: (7 SB) J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets, Button calls.

Turn: (4.50 BB) 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets, Button calls.

River: (6.50 BB) 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, Button checks.

Final Pot: 6.50 BB

Results in white below:
Hero has 2h As (one pair, jacks).
Button has 7s Ts (two pair, jacks and sevens).
Outcome: Button wins 6.50 BB.

Don't worry it won't last long. I think Stars short handed is too much of a LAGfest now. Not that any of them have a clue, but I can't seem to beat them lately.

Edit: Funny story. There is this one LAG who continues to spew and talk about his pokertracker, but ALWAYS sits to my right like he's looking for me.
