Re: Dual Router set up?
as far as I know you can only connect to one network at a time, so you will have to sign off one network and sign on to the other - or the software will do that automatically when you try to connect to the second network.
The "other" computers will be connect through the route. Laptop 1 is your main laptop you use for the internet and all. C2 is the computer you do not want to connect to the internet just transfer files between Router A is connected to the internet hand its SSID is INTERNET Router B is not connected to the internet and it's SSID is NO_NET C2 will need to be connected to NO_NET either through a cable or wirelessly. Laptop 1 will connect to INTERNET through your wireless connection manager software to surf then net, and when you want to connect to C2, you connect to NO_NET. These are just generic examples of the names, hope it makes sense. |

Re: Dual Router set up?
Right now the setup is C2 is set up to Router A for wireless. Router B isn't connected at all. I was planning on L1 (laptop) with Router A for internet as well.
I was planning on connecting both C2 and L1 to router B with Ethernet cables. Just to clarify, when I want to do file transfers between C2 and L1, if they are connected to Router B simultaneously I'll also have to disconnect them from Router A (or it will happen automatically) ? |

Re: Dual Router set up?
you can use Router A to network them, but if you want to do it through Router B with cables, generally when it cable is plugged in it kills your wireless connection. Not sure if you can get them to both run at once.
