You guys don't really believe in that AAAA nonsense, do you? Pie is absolutely RAKING in Iowa again. He should be up and in CF full-time.

Their plate discipline is roughly the same. PECOTA projections for the season favored Jones slightly, but given his poor start and Pagan doing the opposite, I'd say Pagan is still the favorite to produce better for the rest of the year at the plate. Defensively, they're pretty similar. Small advantage to Jones, maybe?

Aside from pure offensive and defensive output, getting more at bats to evaluate Pagan, opening a roster spot, and saving a small amount of cash are what seals it.

No, I think he will be fine. He was starting to press (his swing got too long) when he was up. Right now, I do think Jones gives us a better chance to win.

I've never been impressed by Pie. He looks like Soriano at the plate, without the ability to actually hit all those balls he's flailing at out of the strike zone.

And here's his line so far at Iowa vs. lefties: .176/.236/.275

Honestly, I have no idea what you do with guys like this, but he doesn't seem ready yet for anything but platoon work.

rotoworld:

The Cubs had a scout watching Ty Wigginton on Thursday.
He saw Wigginton hit a homer against the Orioles. With right-handed hitters at first and third, the Cubs wouldn't seem to be a great fit for Wigginton. He's make for a nifty pinch-hitter, but he'll probably be too expensive to acquire just for that role.
