Re: how many times can a flop set get out drawn to another set in a ho
How many times CAN it happen? Well, in principle, as many times as the number of hands they can deal per hour.

just wondering cause its happening alot on ps! [/ QUOTE ] Translating your question to a more appropriate "What is the mean number of times a set will get outdrawn by another set in a hour", the response is "how do you know whether its happening a lot if youre asking the question?" |

Re: how many times can a flop set get out drawn to another set in a ho
Odds of you having a pocket pair: 1/17
Odds of you having a pocket pair and flopping a set: 1/144 The odds are against you even getting a set within an hour, especially since some smaller pairs will be folded. Suppose you're at a quick table that deals 144 hands per hour, and no one folds pocket pairs... on average, 9 sets will be flopped. So you can see it's pretty unlikely that two will happen at the same time. For them both to happen to you, with you on the losing side of both... I'm too tired to do the math right now but it's probably in the hundreds of thousands. So it'll happen to someone once in a while... unfortunately that day you were chosen to be hit with a pile of bad luck. |
