5-max 2/4
Villain is one of the better TAG players at my games, and he is very tricky. I've tried to get good reads on him but he always seem to do the opposite to what I expect. This is why I try to play deceptive when I hit the flop. I was planning on c/r the turn. Hero is BB with A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] preflop 3 player fold SB <font color="red"> raises to 2 SB </font> Hero: calls Flop: A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (4SB) SB: <font color="red"> bets 1 SB </font> Hero: calls Turn: T [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] SB: checks Hero: <font color="red"> bets 1BB </font> SB: <font color="red"> raises 2BB </font> Hero? What would be your line for the rest of the hand? |

3-bet and call down unboated if capped.
Also, 3 bet PF. |

I call down. I don't know if I'm losing value or not though. He knows you're a TAG so I'd say he was counting on you betting here. Looks to me like maybe he's using that lead/check-raise line so he may have a good hand, then again he's a tricky SOB so maybe he's on a draw.

Against a more LAGish player I would 3-bet pf, but this particular TAG is pretty tight pf even from SB in unopened pot. Also I thoght that I had to use a more deceptive line to extract value from him. Notes on pf and flop taken, I'm more intrested in discussions about turn and river.

If he's a good TAG, then 3-betting him with A9o in position is nearly a must. |

I would raise the flop so I can bluff/semibluff here, and also get him to check/raise the turn with an ace, or possibly play back with worse.
I don't think PF is bad in a vacuum, but I want to be 3 betting a fairly wide range here, so you have to also do it with your better hands. |
