Default setting limits.

i have a question. how long do most of your poker playing sessions last? do you have a set time, and number of hours, or do you play until you don't feel good about your current skill level. it's something that i have had issues with. at the moment, i have been playing for 12 hours straight... no breaks... eating while playing, etc.

what type of schedule would u suggest for a beginner like me?

Just starting out I would never put in that kind of time. 12 hrs straight is just too long. Work on improving your game. Review your play and post hands that you have trouble with. Read books/forums/etc. I know you have to play to learn, but I think for starting out you should probably study/review an equal amount to playing.

That sounds horrible.

I play for 2 to 2 1/2 hours then take a break for 15 to 30 mins.

Anything more and I risk getting fatigued, restless and loosing focus. Particularly at the end of the day.

i play if the games are good, and i have nothing better to do. i play professionally, but i don't play anywhere near 40 hours a week. sometimes i won't play all week, sometimes i'll put in a lot of hours. like just now, i opened up stars but didn't really see any games i was interested in, that's that! to bed i go.

2 hours to 2.5 hours if I play Limit $1-$2 SH on 5 tables.

If I play Limit $2-$4 on 2 or maybe 3 slow tables, I could play longer.

But really, 12 hours straight, how is it possible?!!

When I play live I usually put in 8-12 hrs as the drive is 2 hours up and 2 hours back; and I ony get to the casino maybe once a month. I take frequent bathroom breaks (I drink a lot of water) and break for lunch around 1 pm for a half an hour.

Online I usually play just a few hours here and there.

Best of luck,
Mygtar
