for me this could go either way so I'd let position decide it and muck

Which buyin is this? It looks like $33 at least since anything less will never have 8 people left by this blindlevel. Also important is when the blinds go up. The difference between this blindlevel en next one is huge. If you fold now and then have to pay the blinds and by the time you are otb the blinds go up your FE is gone.

I always push this.

i fold rather easily, AQ is the line for me.

what makes it so hard to shove this is how many people you have to get through, also you arent in such a bad spot with 1500ish chips, i like a fold

I think this is a lot closer decision than everybody else. Using the default opponent hand ranges (which vary from 7% to 16%), a push is only +0.09%. The thing is with those ranges you are going to get called 54% of the time and when you do get called you will either be a very small favorite or a pretty big underdog.

The Wizard recommends folding because the default edge 0.56%. That may be too large, but the Wizard sets it based on the fact that you have 7 opponents in the hand left to act. Does anybody think that edge is too large for this situation?

The interesting thing about this hand is that making all of the opponents tighter decreases hero’s push EV and making them looser increases hero’s push EV.

When I set every opponent to “Very tight” range (from 4% to 10%), a push is only +0.03%. The hero will still get call 36% of the time and when he does get called he is usually a big underdog.

When I set every opponent to “Very loose” (20% to 35%), a push is +0.70%. The hero gets called 86% of the time but when he does he is way ahead of his opponent’s range.

I’m not saying you should fold this hand. But you are pushing into a lot of opponents, which makes this a much closer decision than most think.

This is party poker low level donkament (given svenm has admitted he is starting out in other threads), the calling ranges are wide here. I reckon this is at least +.5% at this level, im not giving up a 0.5% push like ever, especially given the blinds are going through us.

it's a push. there's alot of stacks similiar to yours that will prolly call you with cards like KJ or KQ or a weaker ace to try and catch up with the chip leaders

So everybody’s calling range is at least 20%? Wow, I really miss Party Poker.

Yes, I use minimum edge of 0.2%. SNGs are games of taking advantage of slim edges, 0.2% is enough for me here.

Agreed, I was probably a bit too hasty saying that it was an "easy" push but for me this is one of those pushes that is never -EV considering opps' calling ranges, even though the edge might be slim if they call unexpectedly tight.

My shove range is 77+, AJ+ in this spot.
