Party got away with it because all the poker Magazines are minding the advertising budget and not the players interest.

I hadn't opened up Party in months, but I checked today and saw this in my Transaction history:

Oct 11, 2006: Compensatory Freeroll Issued- $00.00
Oct 13, 2006: Compensatory Freeroll Issued- $00.00

WTF are these?

Sadly it looks as though Party is going to get away with the greatest theft in online poker history.

My sense is there are lots of angry people out there like me, who realize they got fleeced and would be willing to contribute to somthing along the lines of a class action suit, but there is no one prepared to organize it. If we could create a registry of everyone who held a Monster Grand Final ticket that would be a good start.

As mentioned, the magazines have not picked up the issue, perhaps in part due to conflict of interest, perhaps because many people just have no clue what happened. It's not a problem that can be explained quickly to someone with no knowledge of the Monster Tourney.

Add to this the confusion/fog of ignorant posters that argue Party's side and you have the right conditions for a successful heist. To argue we should be happy we received a good overlay is akin to saying "be happy you got robbed of some of your winnings, hey they were winnings werent they?"

The money was rightfully the players and it was taken. How much we do not know, but it was a large amount.
