On flop I like to call and then reevaluate on the turn. Standard, right?
On turn should I check behind for pot control and risk give a free card or bet/fold?

Thanks in advance.

he checked a very good bluff card, which might mean he doesn't realize its a good bluff card, he's trapping or he's weak/scared of the K

I'd probably put it in the order of he's

Weak/Scared
Doesn't realize its a good bluff card
Trapping

now you have some showdown value, but the river can be tricky

I would mix up betting and checking behind, kind of on feel, the better a draw I think he may have(2live overs+) the more likely I am to bet, if I think he's drawing to 3 or fewer outs I like checking and giving him an option to bluff the river

I'd have raised flop and be done with the hand if called.

I wouldnt be too worried about giving a free card here, as the villain 3bet from the SB. As we know nothing about the villain, i would think a range something like AQ+, JJ+ for a 3bet.
With no read i would be inclined to check behind for pot control and to disguise the strength of our hand.
I would then probably call a reasonable river bet, but we are not beating much besides AQ and air.
I dont mind reraise/fold against certain opponents, but it costs more and is more read-dependent.

Bet, Bet, Bet!!!
Best case scenario preflop, he 3-bet AK, maybe AQ.
Since he didnt bet it, Id think he might have JJ or QQ and be scared. Get him outta there! Its possibly even time for two barrels, although at NL25, i dont know if that's possible. If he reraises, or leads river, you can get away.

lol, putting people on overpairs and trying to get them to fold is good for your bankroll.

seriously, don't try bluffing overpairs or better, it doesn't work. (against bad players)
