Re: 1000th post: A quiz of sorts
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] Bravos villain is a retard if he 3bets the flop with a lot of those hands. Just because it WAS a steal situation preflop doesn't mean both players will be FOS on every street. [/ QUOTE ] I agree, but we are not talking about the flop 3bet, well at least I am not. Sykes was referring to the flop raise and was saying that we were behind his pre-flop range. If we were psychic and knew he was going to 3bet, then sure, the raise is bad. OTOH, if we were indeed psychic, we should of capped PF and bet/raised every chance. [/ QUOTE ] Thanks for clarifying my mistype/misthought. At the time of the OP flop raise (NOT the 3-bet), all he had seen was a PF 3-bet of his button raise and a c-bet. All ranges mentioned for the BB are WAY tight for this situation, although they are probably right for his range once he is seen to 3-bet. For example, stox's recommendations on hands to 3-bet from the BB vs an aggressive steal is 22+, A7o+, K8o+, Q9o+, J9o+, A3s+, K9s+, Q8s+, J9s+ (p. 94, WiTHG). While his specific conditions may not exactly apply, it does point out that the BB's range is quite wide at OP's flop decision point. Anyone have 'stove handy against this range? I'm almost positive OP has > 50% equity against this range, even if you chop off some of the more marginal hands. |

Are you dumb? [/ QUOTE ] Quite likely. And nitty, to boot. [ QUOTE ] A6s? A7o? If you're a 2+2 that's 3 betting these out of bb with these, you're terrible. [/ QUOTE ] Please see my post with stox's recommendations. Admittedly, this is merely an appeal to authority and A7o and A6s are near the bottom of his ranges, but there are a lot more K and Q-high hands that are being 3-bet from BB in steal situations that you are ahead of on the flop. [ QUOTE ] And you know what, you definately dont have A6/A7 or 77 when you 3bet this flop. [/ QUOTE ] Now this is true, and the previously discussed ranges come more into play [b]after the 3-bet on the flop[b] |
