What idea to you have on your opponent? I think the hand looks like two over cards w/ a flush draw. I think that he put you on a couple of over cards as well and maybe has a small pocket pair or even an 8. After viewing this hand I would call as they could have AA but I would not be worried about any other hand than that. You check on the river makes it look like you missed AK so they are playing on that.

CALL!!!!!!

the thing was i knew i was either way ahead or way behind. he either had a flush draw or he flopped a set and was slow playing it, though he could also probably have a higher pocket pair. so my check on the river was for the best because i would induce a bluff if he did have a flush draw and i would call the bluff. or if he flopped a set or have an overpair it would minimize my loss. if i did bet on the river i would only probably get called by a better hand. he would very likely fold lower pockets or maybe call w/8s, but the only hand im getting value out if is 8x. all other hands i am better off checking.

i do think that i should call this bet strongly though because it could definitely be a missed flush draw or straight draw, though it also could be a value bet. what do u guys think?

You are ahead alot here and I am assuming you checked to get him to bet here so now that your plan worked you have to follow thru.

dont worry, donkey quads like that don't happen often enough to make you go broke, also I can't see betting more on the flop, in the long run you'll make lots of money playing TT vs Q9
