Smallville - anyone watch this and care to review?

I think that's the problem. After the first few episodes of season 1 I was disappointed but I decided to give it two more episodes to see if it improved. Two seasons later...

WRT the later seasons sucking...it's a rough idea to plan 7 seasons for. I wonder if the producers ever thought it would go so far.

I have a friend who watches a lot of TV-on-DVD and have been trying to get him to watch Buffy. He watched the pilot and hated it, which is understandable as the pilot and first season are rather standard. Now I hear he's going through Smallville on DVD and I'm [censored] pissed. You're going to decide to watch full seasons of a high school drama with supernatural elements and you pick Smallville over Buffy?

That being said, I haven't watched any of Smallville yet and OP already watched Buffy, so I have no beef with this thread.

the first two seasons got off slow because he had not fully used all of his powers and it was just week after week of him fighting some pimped out student on meteor rocks.

Once the show takes on a week to week story of a continuing plot line it get's awesome and you cannot stop watching the show.

I give it a 9 of 10

I think I'm alone in this, but I loved this past season....the storyline was quite horrible (phantom zone) but the characters developed excellently IMO. Not to mention Oliver....he is awesome!

I watched Seasons 1-3 really, really fast and Season 4 has kinda sucked to me. I have been stuck on it for almost a year.

I would find this show too draining to watch.
