if u had a FD would u open shove turn?

[/ QUOTE ]

I open shove a lot with my flushes and straights when the current pot size is more than my push amount.

I decided to just call. Villain raises it to $4. I usually fold or 3bet but for some reason I decided to call again.

This would be a good play IF you had reads on the opponent, but as per a significant percentage of players at that level won't lay down A10, K10 etc... which is what you are going for.

If this happened to be a thinking player I admire the play, but given you have no info I'm inclined to let it go early. Would like to hear what he ended up having since he was playing it so strongly.

Thought Process
----------------------

Couple assumptions that I made that I should not have done when I played this hand.

I should not have assumed that the player was a thinking player (which I did) when he was a complete unknown to me.

My assumption that he was a thinking player was what caused me to play the way that I did.

I know that if I was the villain and an unknown open pushed when the flush hit on the turn, I would fold any overpair w/o any hesitation.

Thanks for everyone thoughts. In the long run I think this play was not smart.

Results were villain called and had KK. I sucked out my 2 and made my straight. Thank god for luck
