[ QUOTE ]
I guess what I should be asking is: how do you guys deal with these stretches? I didn't start playing "seriously" until February, and I've never had this long of a terrible stretch. How do you guys continue to play when you're having a bad stretch? You obviously can't get over a bad stretch without playing, but aren't you generally pissed off when you can do no right at the tables? Do you just fight through this or what?

[/ QUOTE ]

I'm in the midst of an almost 20K hand breakeven stretch at 200NL, and I asked a similar question last week. It really does help to get out and exercise, play golf, whatever, just do something active. Pokerwise, it's very helpful to analyze all your hands - spend an hour or so going thru your pokertracker. I played last night, and once again I lost 2 buyins in 2K hands. And while I did get stacked on a 3 outer, the worst part of the session was, I played poorly too. Running bad is frustrating, playing bad is 10 times worse. I made over $300 worth of mistakes last night. Seeing how bad I played has refocused me and I'm pretty determined to buckle down now and start playing my A game again.

The point is, you just need to refresh your brain and find a way to regain your focus and motivation to win.
