Default Re: Flopped a monster against Re-raiser...

His range here should be pretty limited so either he:
1) has you crushed already and you are probably drawing to 3 outs (AQs)
2) has an AK/AJs/JJ type of hand in which case he is drawing to 2 immediate outs
3) he has AA/KK and again has 2 immediate outs

If you push it's true he might put you on a hand like TJs or A9s and call with AA/KK but if that's his hand, you're likely to be able to extract the same amount on the turn/river anyway, but he is folding all 2) hands.

If you raise by not to much, say 30k more, you give him the chance to put you on a wider array of hands (bluff?) which he can then re-bluff, or if he's terrible, call. In this case obviously all the money is going in with 1) hands and 3) hands and it depends on the player about the 2) hands.

If you call, alot of things can happen. First, an A or a K can fall which might entice him to commit everything if he has AK, but it might also be your doom. if any cards below a 9 come on the turn, you should be able to extract some decent value. but if he has a hand like AA/KK, alot of cards will scare him and you will lose value.

So to wrap this up (5:45 am here), I think raising by a "small" amount is the correct play, as it builds the pot with, presumably, the best hand and allows your opponent to make some mistakes he would maybe not do if you call/shove.
