The point of 3 betting is to exploit the fact that some player raise preflop with marginal hands and are willing to fold to a 3 bet. It's also to get paid more with your good hands. 2 things that are very irelevant in live games cause most players dont raise a lot and most players are not willing to fold to 3 bets. When I was playing nl 200 online I was 3 betting a lot less than at nl 400 now.

true, but why is this the case? I feel like there is so much limping in live play, i am regularly seeing 6way flops, and i end up calling correctly in LP with so many hands. So my lack of light 3betting is valid since there are so few rasies that are with weak hands and the weak ones dont want to fold anyway?
