^ yeah, I know, working on it right now

ok, same post, but with a better stove, lol:

I like how op played the hand and would usually play it the same way, folding pre flop is ridiculous

5 handed I'd be reraising it a lot pre flop as well, but not so much against someone with such a high af for obv reasons

the river is difficult though, you'd have to have the best hand ~27% of the time to make the call neutral EV and there aren't that many hands villain could have that we beat, with a pfr of 12 I'd give an UTG raiser (even if it's 5 handed) respect for a solid hand, so we basically only beat AK, AJs, KJs, perhaps A9s which is unlikely obv, bc of his high af he could be block betting A8s as well, and obv there's a small chance he has air

But even if we give villain a very very tight range we still have quite a lot of equity:

Board: 4s 2d 8s Qc Tc

equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 27.273% 27.27% 00.00% 18 0.00 { 9d9s }
Hand 1: 72.727% 72.73% 00.00% 48 0.00 { QQ+, TT, 88, AQs+, AsJs, KQs, KsJs, QTs, AQo+, KQo }

his high af post flop and the likelihood his range is much wider than the above makes me lean towards a call

omg there is some terrible advice in this thread...

raise flop? lollll

call turn occasionally, i'd never call river and fold it on the turn most of the time unless there has been recent history

[/ QUOTE ]

I think you just said what everyone else in this thread said. Everyone who commented on flop said to raise. And everyone who commented on turn/river said to fold. lollll

[/ QUOTE ]

hes saying flop raise is terrible i imagine.

Call flop, call turn, fold river.

villain 3 barreling AsJs and KsJs seems very likely to me, with AK it's less likely, which would skew results obv

otoh, I gave villain a very narrow range as well

I dunno, it's close, villain's high af makes me want to call

but bc it's close I'm fine with folding to his river bet as well, a call would obv be great for meta game though

also, I'll say it again, raising this pre flop is NOT bad, folding is

It's funny because I was reviewing my last 10k hands this weekend and the first thing I noticed was that 99 was a big loser for me because I continued improved too frequently.

When playing deep stack NL, 99 loses most of its value without a set and should be folded on the turn in this particular hand.

make it $12 preflop.

then pot the flop.

if heavy resistance then let it go.

By just calling all the time your giving him opportunitys to keep betting at you and you end up having no clue where you are in a hand.
