jeter gets on first base a lot... posada hits a lot of hard ground balls and can't run, double play with your best hitter coming up is devastating... that's why i like posada at the back end of all the better hitters

btw i would go abreu leadoff, especially if giambi comes back and is playing well enough to bat 3rd

also show me the data over the past year and a half that shows that melky is bad at defense... i don't think he's great, but he has a good arm and his range seems decent... I would guess he's above leauge average... especially in LF...am definately interested in seeing opposing data tho

I think it has been said that the green monster makes Manny's defense numbers look a lot worse than they should. I don't know if they have attempted to correct for this, or if it just hurts everyone when they play there.

i don't know where you are getting these numbers (perhaps lasts year) but melky played mostly CF this year, and has been above average.

good to see that rivera has not allowed a walk or home run in his last 16 innings.... and is at almost exactly 9K/9IP, it is nice not having to listen to other yankee fans question him anymore like they did earlier in the season when he was just running bad.

and this is a really small sample size but still encouraging, over vizcainos last 11 IP he has 10Ks and 0BBs, something to be optimistic about with him after he started off walking more than he struck out. as I type, struck out 2 in the 8th tonight. hey-oh.
