Re: double gutter deep vs. Bbuddy 25/50
Yea, that's basically what I meant. That you make most of your money by winning big pots. If he's letting you play big pots when he holds marginal hands (especially OOP) that would seem to work more often in our favor than not. Also, I doubt we were bluffing BB too much to start with... (Which is a reason why I dont really love the push here - seems like the wrong opponent to try to get to fold anything).

[ QUOTE ]
Meh, thats what I wrote..it only changes our frequency of bluffing..which in turn will mean that our VBs gain us more, and our bluffs gain us less. The only thing I can see that is the inherent advantage to this is that game theoretically, with deep stacks, there are a lot of situations where someone who calls too much is losing way more than someone who folds too much. [/ QUOTE ] i think them both being deep stacked is important plus it is easier IMO to exploit someone calling too much. |

Re: double gutter deep vs. Bbuddy 25/50
Buddy is going to push the river if you just call....push or fold, i vote fold. then again he may be stop and going with air on the turn, but i can't say that for sure since i haven't seen him play much.

BLD, your math works out ( (x*6966)-(1-x)(0.182x22091) = 0 ) [/ QUOTE ] What do those numbers represent? |

[/ QUOTE ] this might sound stupid.. but do you (MDMA & TWP) think that the value gained by bluffing this pot is in turn actually profitable.. in the sense that there needs to be enough deepstack play between OP and villain and the theory needs to be applied perfectly and villain needs to react appropriately for this "metagame" to actually pay off. where losing this potentially 400bb pot is worth the chance that this metagame will inevitably have +/= value in the future? |

Re: double gutter deep vs. Bbuddy 25/50
No, I don't. I don't think MDMA does either. We were just discussing Bld's comment. And since he has some idea of how to play poker, we figured it probably had some sense behind it. Not sure we understand it yet though, really. Since, as you say, I do find it unlikely that metagame could swing the odds that much. But maybe he made some assumptions about how often they play each other, etc. or maybe it was just an offhand comment and he didnt think about it that much - I don't know. Or maybe I underestimate the importance of metagame in these spots.
