10/20 Crown (Melbourne) Loving myself too much here?
All regular faces. Table has been running for about an hour. Very tight preflop (from what I had previously exp at crown) and no one getting out of line from what I can tell.
I showed a bluff early on(at showdown) and have only shown monsters since then. Hero=AcJd open raise MP BB call Flop 2h 5h 8s BB chk Hero Bet BB call Turn 10c BB bet Hero Raise... BB is a solid thinking player who will almost always have the best hand at SD. |

I'd fold the turn. The pot is too small, and I don't think your opponent is folding. He likely has a made hand or a decent draw.

I don't like the raise. Villain has the 8,T or draw and isn't folding.

Re: 10/20 Crown (Melbourne) Loving myself too much here?
Thanks for the responses, seems like the turn raise is out of line.
Basically, my rationale for the turn raise was that I was confident he wouldn't showdown a marginal hand and I felt like my c-bet on the flop meant nothing. I was hoping my turn raise would look like a big PP protecting a draw heavy board. How does your analysis change if Hero does in fact hold big PP? |

If you did hold a big PP it's a raise on the turn... what's the question here?

Re: 10/20 Crown (Melbourne) Loving myself too much here?
I guess I should have emphasised the tightness of the BB. Basically, he won't showdown anything less than top pair when faced with aggression. This is not to say he won't try and win the pot by donk betting the turn.
Sorry, I am pretty green at HH analysis and should have phrased a more general question without the HH, such as "If an opponent will only ever showdown top pair and you have a tight table image, should you be raising every turn regardless of your holding? |
