OP - within any social circle, there will be varying levels of income and personal wealth. This will become even more pronounced the older you get. Probably something you should stop worrying about at some point (whether you are the wealthy one or poor one).

Dean, there are mid-20-something athletes who make a lot more than you. Don't feel bad. The trickle down theory says all the peons will eventually get your crumbs. Especially if you are blowing money on plasma's and stuff.

Also, your friends who look poor might have nice retirement accounts and money in the bank. Not everybody keeps score by how sweet their pad looks.

This is as much of a "weird social situation" as you make it. I don't know about you, but a lot of my friends come from various backgrounds - some with much less than me, and some with a lot more than me. We don't feel awkward around each other, because we don't go out of our way to make each other feel like sh*t. In fact, the ones who have the most wealth are probably the ones that I envy, but am not jealous of. These friends clearly have nice things, and it doesn't bother me... but if they kept TALKING about all the nice things they had, or trying to pretend that they were playing down all the nice things they had, THAT would bother me.

That being said, just be thankful that you have what you do, and realize that there will ALWAYS be people who have less than you, and others who have much more.

One of the worst threads in EDF history. Only reason it wasn't instantly deleted is because MM appears to be MIA.

Dean,

I feel like this thread is some weird brag wrapped in projecting how you feel about yourself (fairly pleased) onto your friends.

Unless your apartment is insane, I can't imagine the situation you decribe is that much different from mine. I have a nice apartment in a great location, cool tv, all the e-toys, and my poker winnings are like lifetime 10K. Obv you're balling harder than me, but I can't imagine your apartment putting people to shame.
