I think it was played fine.

And bsheck calling the turn is fine IMO because he picked up a flush draw plus his pair.

You said you put the villain on an overpair after the flop bet. If that is the case raising the turn would be terrible. Unless you believe he has the ability to put down an overpair (unlikely at NL10 6max) then you would just be putting more money in with a weak hand.

Raising the flop if you think he's full of [censored] most of the time is a good play now and then. Calling the flop is possible as it would can be a stronger play than reraising (floating). You have to fold (of shove) the turn though to get your fold equity. Floating twice is impossible. Unless villain is a total maniac who always second barrels this play is not +EV i think.

i think play is fine, if you have a different style then all the nits that is fine but it looks like you are attempting to prepare yourself for real poker when you move up instead of set mining which is good,

what the nits didnt notice is that the 4 completes absolutely no draws to the board, so your had could have been any two cards in that spot and you should shove and he ll fold because he obviously had missed overs he double barreled or he had a pair smaller then the top pair on the board

I usually prefer 3-betting pre or folding. It really depends on the villain, of course. I don't like calling because it looks a lot like a pp and floating with air is pretty tough against overpairs at these stakes.

I've been reading up on the pocket fives anthology and have been trying to implement some of the concepts into my play.
