Re: JTs flopped flush line check
i don't really like the check call on the flop. Betting out is best here I think

Re: JTs flopped flush line check
Always bet flop, if another heart comes down you could lose your stack.

Re: JTs flopped flush line check
As a general rule of thumb, it's not a good line if you haven't got your stack in on the river.
I'd lead the flop for whatever seems appropriate and take it from there. By appropriate, whatever you think people would expect you to do with TP, or an overpair or a single big heart. It's also important to think how you can manage the pot in such a way that the river prices in any made hand. This is easy enough here because the pot is already 1/3 your stack on the flop so probably 240ish to go on the flop which leaves you a pot-sized bet behind on the turn assuming one caller. Then it all depends on position of callers. Obviously, good things can also happen on the flop if you bet: sets are somewhat obliged to push, A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] might push etc. FWIW, check-call monotone flop, lead turn looks really strong (or, consequently, bluffy depending on your opponent). |

I think just betting out is fine. Here your raise might work because he looks like he's on a draw, but if he's savvy he'll just let it go knowing he's beat. |

Re: JTs flopped flush line check
MJ...when I start seeing savvy play at lower levels I'll adjust...lol...I guess I just want to see a larger pot built earlier so we can get it in...barring a 4 flush we have to get max value here and after he starts committing I want to step up my bet sizes a bit so I can get a big river bet/push in

Re: JTs flopped flush line check
I'm going to build a pot by betting out here though, not raising a weak bet. A raise means "Big hand" or "You don't have a hand"
If they're on a draw, they'll call anyway. If they have top pair, they might throw it away. But if I lead out, both are calling, and I'm going to lead out a fairly large amount here. |
