Re: Let\'s elaborate on Sunglasses
[ QUOTE ]
Maui Jim is one expensive brand that everyone I know who has bought them loves. [/ QUOTE ] Yes! I'm on my first pair of Maui's and I don't begrudge a penny I spent on them ($160) - very light, very comfortable, ballistic non-scratch lenses (supposedly, time will tell) and some kind of resin frame that you can bend and twist into a pretzel and it just snaps back into form. If/when I lose these I know it'll be heartbreaking and will have nothing to do with how much they cost. Kirk |

Re: Let\'s elaborate on Sunglasses
I think the best idea is to go to a store (sunglass hut or wherever), try a bunch on, and figure out what the best one for your face is. Having an unbiased female opinion is a HUGE help.
I have a pair of Oakley's (third one of these) and I think they're pretty generic. Then, I went into the store, elicited a female's help and wound up with a great pair of Pradas a year ago. Have gotten a bunch of compliments since then. |

Re: Let\'s elaborate on Sunglasses
I really liked the Maui Jims I ordered from Party, and then I cracked them the first time I wore them.
Then I accidentally (sort of) bought a pair of Bulgari Aviators for WAY too much money. I really like them and I'm definitely converted that nicer sunglasses are well worth it. |

Re: Let\'s elaborate on Sunglasses
Where's the best outlet to get prescription sunglasses that don't look goofy? An optometrist?
Thx in advance |

Re: Let\'s elaborate on Sunglasses
I've had a couple pair from Fossil and liked them OK. Always on the "these are fine" and not "I love these so much" level.
Right now, I have a pair from Kenneth Cole that I like a bit better. Still not massively in love with them, but they're nice and are holding up well with daily use. Not a great picture, but gives the general idea: |

Thx in advance [/ QUOTE ] yes, my dad went to your basic franchise optometrist and got a pair of perscription raybans with the "invisible" bifocal and they look great. as long as there isn't too much of a wrap in the frame, they'll be able to do just about anything for you. |

I pretty much only buy Spy, big lensed sunglasses. They're a little pricey, and I go through atleast a pair a year... but for some reason I just keeping going back. |
