straight?
Middle stages of low stakes deep stacks tourney on pokerstars. 150-300 blinds. I have 46c and 12k (each player has me outstacked at around 20k) and dubiously call an utg double (acting next). It folds around to bb who calls.
Flop is T57 one club, they check I check along. Turn 8c. villain 1 bets out 900, villain 2 makes it 2500 what do i do? deznuts |

Re: straight?
I've never played a deep stacks tourney, but since you're below average, I think you play for your stack here and push. The pot is too big and the board too dangerous to slowplay with a call.
You're only losing to J9, and even if J9 calls, you have redraws with your club flush. Best to push and get rid of a higher club draw. |

Re: straight?
BTW you're really not that deep (40bb's) so calliing an UTG min-raise UTG+1 w/ a low suited one-gapper is kind of bad.

Re: straight?
Your pf call is massively -ev.
As played you should bet the flop. As played doing anything other than shoving the turn is horrible. What range of hands do you put the villains on? How will they react on given river cards if you smooth call? How will they react to a shove. The answer to this question is obvious, you need to work on learning the process for which you can come upon these easy solutions. |
